Snowflake Launches New Data Cloud for Government and Education Industry

Date:

Snowflake, the data giant, has launched its latest industry-specific offering, the government and education data cloud. Aimed at public sector agencies and educational institutes, the new product provides a fully-managed package that swiftly gets teams started with the Snowflake data platform. The cloud offers an easy way to combine data assets, while building downstream applications relevant to a particular vertical with predictive capabilities and historical trend analysis reports. As with previous industry clouds from Snowflake, the product comprises three elements: the core cross-cloud data platform to consolidate structured, semi-structured and unstructured data, prebuilt solutions, and industry-specific datasets. For government agencies and educational institutes, the dedicated data cloud will help unify, exchange and collaborate on disparate data assets. Customers of the new government and education data cloud include the US State of Montana and the City of Tacoma.
