Samsung, the South Korean technology giant has made a bold move in the AI landscape. The tech giant has now imposed a ban on the use of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, thereby preventing any leak of internal data. This ban has come following some of its employees accidentally leaking sensitive company data through the use of ChatGPT.
Microsoft’s OpenAI’s ChatGPT is a new AI tool designed to turn people’s thoughts into text. However, this AI model also stores user data and poses a security risk as the data can potentially fall in the hands of other people. Hence, Samsung took the wise decision of banning the use of ChatGPT.
This ban by Samsung applies only to its employees and won’t affect the consumers in any way. But the tech giant is continuing to work on its own Artificial Intelligence tools with its main focus on providing assistance in software development, summarizing documents, and translation. However, it is too early to predict if Samsung will make these tools available to its consumers.
In the meantime, Samsung has also integrated a ChatGPT-powered BingAI in its devices. The Microsoft’s SwiftKey keyboard comes pre-installed with OneUI and has been integrated with the Bing AI.
Samsung is undoubtedly a prominent technology giant, known to develop innovative products and services. It creates smartphones, tablets, TV’s, home appliances and develops software such as Bixby and OneUI. It is also present in the semiconductor market and manufactures memory chips used in personal computers and other electronic devices.
Apart from the company, Microsoft’s OpenAI is also a major player in the AI landscape. The company provides cutting-edge Artificial Intelligence technology used for various purposes. It has developed different AI models such as GPT-3 and its software products include products like GPT-Neo, SwiftKey, and now ChatGPT. OpenAI has collaborated with various companies, like Microsoft and Alphabet, to develop new products and make advancements in AI.
