OpenAI, an artificial intelligence (AI) company, announced on Tuesday, the roll out of a new feature that allows users of its ChatGPT conversation bot to prevent openAI models from using their chat data to train and improve existing models. With one simple click, users can now turn off chat history and have the assurance that whatever conversations are started afterward will not be used for training. This setting can be found within the ChatGPT settings, and the user can choose to change it at any point.
OpenAI plans to add a new ChatGPT Business subscription for those who need a more rigorous control over their data and companies who would like to manage their end-users on their own as well. For this version, OpenAI will follow its API’s usage policies and the data won’t be used to train its models unless the end user consents. The subscription is expected to be released in the upcoming months.
