Preparing for AI Job Automation: Coursera Courses Help Workers Stay Ahead of the Curve

As businesses turn to generative AI to give customers higher quality experiences and increase output, it is causing an unprecedented need for people to learn and adapt their current skills. To meet this urgent demand, Coursera has announced a series of courses, platform innovations, and immersive learning experiences to better equip their learners and educators around the world.

Specifically, the platform will launch a ChatGPT-powered Teach-Out from the University of Michigan, an AI for Good Specialization from DeepLearning.AI, eight new online programs from leading universities in high-demand areas such as computer science, data science, and business administration, and two entry-level profiles with IBM and Meta.

For learners, Coursera also provides a virtual coach powered by generative AI to provide personalized feedback, career guidance, and interview preparation. In addition to this, the platform offers a course builder tool to help educators quickly create quality courses quickly with Generative AI.

Coursera has also announced its commitment to making learning more accessible by deploying machine learning-powered translation to its path to 2,000+ courses into Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Thai, and Indonesian to accommodate a wide range of learners.

To help learners find job opportunities to put their new skills to use, the platform will also launch Coursera Hiring Solutions (beta) in India, which provides skill-based recruitment to match industry-trained, job-ready talent to entry-level digital roles. Plans are also in the works to launch the solution in the US.

Jeff Maggioncalda, CEO of Coursera, expressed excitement in regards to this announcement. He said, “Online learning, broadband connectivity, and remote work opportunities are opening up access for more individuals to take part in the global economy, regardless of their background or location. We’re committed to helping learners and organizations seize the moment and use change to create more equal opportunities for everyone.”

Coursera is a leading online learning provider, founded by two professors from Stanford University in 2012. Since then, their catalog has grown to over 4,000 courses, 17,000 specialized programs, 35 million registered learners, and over 140 university partners to offer comprehensive, job-relevant training for learners of all backgrounds and ages.
