Nearly 4,600 Egyptian ChatGPT accounts have reportedly been hacked, according to a recent report by cyber security firm Group-IB. The hack affected login credentials and search queries, with Egypt topping the list of affected countries in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Morocco (2,647), Algeria (2,002) and Turkey (1,922) completed the region’s top four affected countries.

Worldwide, 101,134 accounts were hacked through info-stealing malware, which plundered details saved in browsers, bank card numbers, crypto wallet information, browsing history, cookies, among other data from infected computers. MEA had the second highest number of stolen ChatGPT accounts (24.6 percent), and was only surpassed by the Asia-Pacific region (40.5 percent).
