Rumors about the upcoming version of the widely used GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer) series, GPT-5, have flooded the tech world and OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman recently confirmed those rumors at the MIT event. This new version of language model, GPT-3, was released on November 30, 2022, and was a breakthrough in natural language processing and artificial intelligence, earning immense success and recognition. GPT-3 has been employed in numerous applications such as chatbot, language translation, and content creation.
Altman assured that OpenAI has not yet started working on GPT-5 and focused on making the previous version better. Building a bigger and better version of Language models is similar to the old 90’s scenario where people competed for highest GHz in computers. But according to the OpenAI CEO, with the increase in technology and its capabilities, the safety regulations should also be heightened.

OpenAI recently announced the new GPT-4, introduced on March 14, 2023, with multiple facilities and capabilities yet to be explored and employed.
