OpenAI CEO Envisions Israel as Key Player in Artificial Intelligence’s Future

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes Israel will play a “huge role” in mitigating the significant risks associated with artificial intelligence (AI). After a tour of Europe discussing AI with lawmakers and leaders, he stated he is travelling to Jordan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, India, and South Korea. Altman is keen for governments to introduce rapid regulations that ensure responsible use of AI. Israel has been ranked among the top five countries for significant machine learning systems, according to Stanford University. While proposing regulation to mitigate risks, Altman dismissed concerns over AI’s impact on employment, stating that future jobs would look almost nothing like those of today.
