Cisco Study Reveals Only 17% of Organizations in The Philippines are Fully Prepared for AI Deployment
In a recent study conducted by Cisco, it was found that only 17% of organizations in The Philippines are fully prepared to deploy and leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered technologies. The study, called the AI Readiness Index, surveyed over 8,000 global companies to assess their preparedness for the accelerating adoption of AI.
The findings of the study highlight critical gaps across key business pillars and infrastructures, posing serious risks for the future. While 87% of respondents believe that AI will have a significant impact on their business operations, there are concerns around data privacy and security.
One of the main challenges identified by the study is the lack of integration between AI and existing data infrastructure. A staggering 77% of respondents admitted that this is due to data existing in silos across their organizations, hindering their ability to fully leverage AI.
However, the study also reveals some positive news. The majority of organizations in The Philippines are taking proactive measures to prepare for an AI-centric future. In fact, 94% of organizations already have a robust AI strategy in place or are in the process of developing one. Additionally, 77% of organizations are classified as either Pacesetters or Chasers, indicating their readiness to adopt AI technologies.
The study shows that there has been an increased urgency to deploy AI technologies in the past six months, with IT infrastructure and cybersecurity being the top priority areas for AI deployments.
Zaza Soriano-Nicart, Managing Director of Cisco Philippines, emphasizes the importance of investing in the right areas to ensure a good return on investment when deploying AI solutions. She highlights the need for companies to assess their readiness across different pillars such as infrastructure and data, while also ensuring security and responsibility in AI usage.
Overall, the study highlights the need for organizations in The Philippines to bridge the gap in AI readiness. With AI becoming increasingly prevalent in modern business operations, it is crucial for companies to prioritize integration, data management, and cybersecurity to fully leverage the benefits of AI technologies.
In conclusion, the Cisco study reveals that while only 17% of organizations in The Philippines are fully prepared for AI deployment, there is a significant level of focus and investment by C-Suite executives and IT leadership. With the right strategies and preparations in place, organizations can unlock the potential of AI to create value for their businesses and industries.
