OnePlus 12R Launches with Impressive Features and Affordable Pricing
OnePlus, a renowned smartphone manufacturer, is all set to unveil its latest flagship phones, the OnePlus 12 series, on January 23. The OnePlus 12 has already made its debut in China, and if the release in that market is any indication, the new-gen OnePlus 12 is expected to come equipped with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and up to 16GB of RAM in India and globally. While the official pricing is yet to be revealed, reports have already surfaced regarding the features and estimated pricing of the OnePlus 12 and its toned-down version, the OnePlus 12R, specifically for the Indian market.
The leaked price of the OnePlus 12 on Amazon, shared by leaker Ishan Agarwal, indicated that the model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage would be priced at Rs 69,999 (around $843). Surprisingly, this is lower than the Chinese version’s price of CNY 4299 (around $605) for the same configuration, and it marks a significant departure from the pricing strategy of previous OnePlus models.
In contrast, the OnePlus 12R, which is expected to be a more affordable variant, is rumored to fall within the price range of the OnePlus 11R. It could be priced between Rs 40,000 and Rs 50,000, depending on the chosen variant. In the US, the OnePlus 12R is reportedly priced at $499 (about Rs 41,500) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model, and $599 (about Rs 49,800) for the 16GB/256GB model.
Moving on to the specifications, the OnePlus 12 China edition boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, offering high performance and AI capabilities. It also comes with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, ensuring seamless multitasking and ample space for storing content.
The OnePlus 12 features a stunning 6.82-inch display with a 2K resolution and an impressive 120Hz refresh rate, delivering a mesmerizing visual experience. The display utilizes LTPO AMOLED panel technology, which results in vibrant colors and sharp contrasts. With a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, it is also easily visible outdoors. Powering the OnePlus 12 is a robust 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W fast charging through its USB-C port. Incredibly, the battery can go from 0 to 100 percent in just 26 minutes. Additionally, it supports rapid wireless charging at 50W, providing users with a convenient charging option.
Running on Android 14 with a custom OxygenOS 14 interface, the OnePlus 12 ensures a smooth and clean software experience, enhancing user satisfaction.
Meanwhile, the OnePlus 12R, the more budget-friendly version of the OnePlus 12, is rumored to be equipped with a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1.5K resolution. With its peak brightness of 4,500 nits, it delivers a vivid and immersive visual experience, even when used outdoors.
Under the hood, the OnePlus 12R is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, enabling smooth multitasking. Users can also enjoy the luxury of a large 1TB UFS 4.0 storage option, providing ample space for data and apps.
In terms of its camera setup, the OnePlus 12R is rumored to sport a powerful triple camera configuration on the rear. While the price of the OnePlus Buds 3 in India is yet to be disclosed, it is estimated to be similar to the price in China, where they were launched at CNY 499 (about Rs 5,800). These high-quality earbuds provide a seamless listening experience and are likely to be well-received by consumers.
