Jensen Huang, an electrical engineer and co-founder and CEO of chip giant Nvidia, experienced a hefty 98 percent rise in his personal wealth in the past year. Huang is now one of the 44 richest people in the globe and is amongst the biggest gainers of the latest AI revolution, powered by the swift penetration of the ChatGPT technology.
The introduction of ChatGPT has been a boom for the AI industry. ChatGPT is the fastest-growing application or tool in AI’s history. Within a few months, it managed to attract over 100 million users worldwide.
ChatGPT is a highly efficient way of training and interference processing and it is one of the most promising technologies of the current era. It has been described as an “iPhone moment” for the Artificial Intelligence industry by Huang himself. In order to demonstrate his confidence in this tech, in 2016 he donated to OpenAI the first NVIDIA DGX supercomputer.
Huang’s talents and ambition were obvious from an early age. He left Taiwan at a young age and moved to the United States, where he earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1992. Not long after, he, along with two other engineers, founded Nvidia in their condo in Fremont, California and his 30th birthday. Since then, this tech giant has gone from strength to strength, especially in the Gaming segment, where it earned nearly $9 billion in revenues.
The incredible success of Nvidia lays witness to Huang’s constant commitment to remaining at the cutting-edge of the technology sector. Due to ChatGPT technology, his company’s stocks skyrocketed and he is now reaping the rewards from his past perseverance and faith in generative AI.
