NFL Fans React to ‘ChatGPT’ Selecting the Best Football Teams Since 2000

Date:

NFL fans have been overwhelmingly outraged over the recent list of “best football teams since 2000” published by ChatGPT for NFL on FOX. As expected, the controversial ranking has been met with intense criticism from both fans and experts alike, with many labeling it as “the dumbest take on football I’ve ever seen.”

Leading the list is the 2007 New England Patriots, a powerhouse team lead by quarterback Tom Brady, along with other stars such as Randy Moss, Wes Welker, and Vince Wilfork. Unfortunately, Bill Belichick’s team fell short of a perfect season and were defeated in Super Bowl XLII by Eli Manning’s New York Giants. Coming second on the list is the 2013 Seattle Seahawks – a team headed by then-second-year starting quarterback Russell Wilson. This led to them ultimately going on to win the Lombardi Trophy after a 43-8 victory against Peyton Manning’s Denver Broncos. Rounding out the top three is the 2009 New Orleans Saints, under the leadership of Drew Brees, beating the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl with a score of 31-17.

The rest of the top ten teams since 2000 as chosen by ChatGPT include the 2016 New England Patriots, the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, the 2004 Philadelphia Eagles, the 2015 Carolina Panthers, the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the 2005 Pittsburgh Steelers, and lastly, the 2019 Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes.

Unsurprisingly, fans of the NFL have been highly critical of the list. One twitter user expressed their discontent by saying “woof. Terrible list. The ’05 Steelers won in the most unimpressive season of football in recent memory.” Others criticized the lack of mention of certain teams such as Denver Broncos and Green Bay Packers, as well as achievements of those for which the list did not account, such as the multiple Super Bowl wins with Eli Manning at the helm.
