New Relic has launched Grok, a generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) assistant that uses OpenAI’s large language model to monitor and fix software performance issues. The new solution makes it incredibly easy for engineers of all experience levels to quickly solve complex monitoring and development issues without manually sifting through telemetry data.
Grok’s chat interface allows users to type any kind of question in plain language, such as “Why is my shopping cart service slow?” or “How did the latest server update impact my app?”. Grok takes the query and searches through the entire New Relic platform, including 30 monitoring services, to suggest possible causes and solutions. In addition, Grok can help with configuring instrumentation and debugging code-level errors.
With the integration of OpenAI’s large language models, businesses can now significantly streamline their observability process. This provides an easier alternative to the complex systems and unhelpful troubleshooting interfaces many observability platforms offer.
