Microsoft is a global technology leader and innovator, with products and services ranging from cloud computing, software and hardware, to AI and gaming. It has become a household name and a key player in the tech industry, having achieved a massive customer base over the years.
Jeff Teper, who serves as Microsoft’s President for Collaborative Apps and Platforms, announced the new update to Microsoft Teams that is currently in public preview for Windows users. The update will improve the user experience and speed performance, as the company implemented its AI-powered Copilot technology for Microsoft 365 Apps. Through Copilot, users gain access to relevant information more quickly, with natural language prompts to maximize efficiency.
Furthermore, Teams integrates AI-driven insights with the data found in the Microsoft Graph, including emails, chats, documents and meetings. These insights will help prepare users for meetings and chats, as the app will now offer the ability to check if users’ names were mentioned and go into the specifics of conversations without breaking the flow. Teams will also carry a few UX enhancements such as improved notifications, easier search functions and better organization tools.
The rehauled version of Teams with Copilot-driven AI smarts promises to optimize Microsoft investments and push the boundaries of productivity. Microsoft’s plan is to make the work of working together easier and faster, while providing a smoother and more efficient user experience in the process.
