Malware groups are using fake ChatGPT tools to target businesses, a recent report from Meta stated. These malicious extensions are hosted on Dropbox, Google Drive, Mega, MediaFire, Discord, Atlassian’s Trello, Microsoft OneDrive, and iCloud platforms and are advertised through social media and sponsored search results. One of the campaigns recently disrupted by Meta leveraged people’s interest in Open AI’s ChatGPT to lure them into installing malware. To counter this, Meta has been cracking down on the issue, however, “We’ve seen bad actors quickly pivot to other themes, including posing as Google Bard, TikTok marketing tools, pirated software and movies, and Windows utilities,” the report said.
