Meta Alerts Increase of ChatGPT Scams; Facebook Adjustments Result in Revenue Decline for Reach Pins

Date:

Meta Platforms recently warned that awareness of ChatGPT scams is on the rise. Malware traffickers are taking advantage of public interest in the technology to trick unsuspecting users into downloading malicious applications and browser extensions, according to the company’s chief information security officer, Guy Rosen. He likened the situation to cryptocurrency scams, saying “ChatGPT is the new crypto”.

International publisher Reach has cited changes in Facebook’s media presentation and prioritization as the reason behind their 6% drop in revenue in Q1 of 2023. Although this trend is becoming common for other publications as well, it seems that Facebook is unable to balance the interests of news outlets, content creators, and the platform itself.

ByteDance Ltd., the parent company of TikTok, recently scraped the free tier of its music streaming service, Resso. Currently available in Brazil, India, and Indonesia, the paid-for service will become their sole subscription offering as of May 11th.

Meta Platforms is a leading cross-platform content and advertising company with offices in North America, Europe, the Middle East, and India. Their mission is to provide superior experiences for creators, marketers, and audiences alike, backed by technology and expertise.

Deborah Gbadamosi is the CEO of Meta Platforms. Since taking control, Gbadamosi has strived to create content and advertising solutions that are both relevant and resonant with users. In addition, she has worked to ensure that the company is compliant with ethical regulations and standards within the digital media space.
