Making Collaboration Software Smarter: Atlassian and OpenAI Team Up

Date:

Atlassian, a leading provider of collaboration software, has announced its new AI-infused tools at its annual user conference, TEAM 2023, in Las Vegas. The new tool called Atlassian Intelligence integrates generative artificial intelligence (AI) into its team collaboration platform Confluence to help IT teams become more efficient.

The integration with OpenAI gives customers the ability to summarize decisions, create tweets based on product specifications, and draft test plans for product updates in Jira Software. Furthermore, their Jira Service Management now includes a virtual agent to respond to queries about company policies as well as recommend Confluence articles and pages for faster issue resolution. These features are available for Early Access and some may transition to being paid over time.

Sherif Mansour, Head of Product AI at Atlassian, said: “With AI technology advancing rapidly, we’re excited to share how we’re bringing its power and magic to the full family of Atlassian Cloud products through Atlassian Intelligence that can unleash the potential of every team.”

Notably, Microsoft, a major competitor of Atlassian, has recently invested in OpenAI as well. Microsoft and Google have implemented generative AI-based virtual assistants to help users create texts more quickly.
