Issues with the Newly Released ChatGPT iPhone App

Date:

OpenAI released the ChatGPT app for iPhones and iPads last week, aiming to make the cutting-edge AI technology more accessible to individuals. Unfortunately, users have encountered an enormous problem that may make them never want to use the app again.

ChatGPT is unable to access up-to-date information, meaning that when users inquire about current events, a message pops up saying that ChatGPT doesn’t have any information beyond its September 2021 knowledge cutoff.

This has been a longstanding limitation since the initial website launch, and with other popular apps, such as Google Bard and Bing Chat offering internet access, the issue has become quite glaring.

OpenAI is a research laboratory based in San Francisco, founded in 2014. Owned by Microsoft, its mission is to drive responsible, purposeful AI development to benefit humankind. OpenAI has achieved numerous scientific milestones during its time, including outperforming humans in a game of chess.

Microsoft’s former Corporate Vice President and current OpenAI CEO Greg Brockman is a seasoned entrepreneur and software engineer. Having previously worked at Prosper and Stripe Inc., where he held the position of Chief Technology Officer, Greg now leads OpenAI to fulfill its mission in democratizing AI for everyone.
