OpenAI and Anthropic have recently faced a new rival, Inflection AI, co-founded by Linkedin co-founder Reid Hoffman and Mustafa Suleyman, co-founder of Google’s DeepMind. Inflection AI has recently announced the launch of their own chatbot, or “Personal AI” – Pi.
The founders boast Pi for its IQ (intelligence quotient) as well its emotional quotient (EQ). They tout Pi as a potential sounding board and coach, promising the bot to be better at “natural flowing conversation”, than lists, plans, or code.
Pi currently can be used on almost all platforms, including Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp. You can find out more by visiting the heypi.com website.
Last year, Inflection AI had raised a whopping $225 million in equity financing. The source of the funding remains a mystery.
To compete with the hype around OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard, Hugging Face also unveiled their own chatbot called HuggingChat.
Inflection AI was founded by Linkedin co-founder Reid Hoffman and Mustafa Suleyman, the current co-founder of DeepMind (now a part of Google). Suleyman took to Twitter to express his views on their new product “We think that in the future everyone will have their own personal AI”. According to him, Pi is the perfect assistant for everyone, functioning as a creative partner or coach.
It is clear that the AI industry is now looking beyond the usual code, lists, and plans and into more natural conversations. Inflection AI’s pi could very well be an invaluable tool to benefit from the upcoming growth wave.
