Opera recently launched an AI-powered side panel called Aria, powered by OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Aria is designed to provide users with an easier way to find relevant information on the web. In addition, Aria can generate text or code, or be used to locate products and services. It is backed by Opera’s extensive knowledge, as it is given access to the company’s entire database of support during searches.
Currently, Aria is available for testing in over 180 countries, however it is limited to content that was uploaded before 2021. As such, it can be accessed over the internet. To use the feature, users can download the latest version of the Opera One Browser or the Aria Android interface and be whitelisted for the service.
Opera also has a wide range of artificial intelligence features available, such as chatbots that are powered by ChatGPT and ChatSonic. These chatbots can be used to compile articles and webpages, as well as post information to social media accounts for users. Additionally, users can create AI prompts using the new tool by selecting text from a website or manually typing it in.
Opera is also planning to integrate Aria further with the launch of the new version of its Opera One Browser. This will make it possible to carry out tasks in more than one browser without needing to switch between them.
The company behind Aria, OpenAI, is a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence research laboratory. Founded by Elon Musk and Sam Altman, the lab has close ties with many big tech companies, including Microsoft and Google. The goal of the laboratory to advance the state of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and tackle big challenges, such as climate change, self-driving cars, and human-computer interaction.
