To modernize existing statutes and address the unique challenges posed by AI, the government is considering either standalone AI legislation or integrating AI provisions into the Digital India Bill. Industry stakeholders, including the Digital News Publishers Association (DNPA), have shown support for the initiative, advocating for amendments to IT rules to ensure fair compensation for content used by AI algorithms.
