IBM has recently unveiled a new lineup of watsonX assistants aimed at boosting AI adoption across various industries. This announcement was made during the company’s annual Think event, where IBM showcased the potential economic benefits of this new wave of AI innovation, estimated to reach $4 trillion annually.
Despite the fact that 42% of large-scale enterprises have integrated AI into their operations, the Global AI Adoption Index by IBM reveals that 40% are still in the early stages of exploration and experimentation with AI models, delaying full deployment.
To address these challenges, IBM is introducing updates and enhancements to its watsonX assistants. Among these new offerings are the watsonX Code Assistant for Enterprise Java Applications, scheduled for release in October 2024, and the watsonX Assistant for Z, set to launch in June 2024. These advancements aim to improve user-system interactions and help clients better understand and document applications using natural language.
In addition to these new assistants, IBM is expanding its product offerings by introducing Nvidia L40S and Nvidia L4 Tensor Core GPUs, as well as adding support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (RHEL AI) and OpenShift AI. These additions are designed to assist enterprises and developers in efficiently managing AI and other critical workloads.
Furthermore, IBM is rolling out generative AI-powered data products like the IBM Data Product Hub and Data Gate for watsonX. These tools are intended to enhance organizations’ abilities to monitor, regulate, and optimize complex data for AI-related tasks.
Overall, IBM’s latest innovations in the AI space are poised to drive significant advancements in AI adoption, paving the way for substantial economic benefits across industries.
