Snapchat has made My AI chatbot available to all users, and people have had an array of reactions to it. Those who have tested the feature have shared jokes, anxieties, and concerns about their interactions with the chatbot.
On TikTok, the reactions to My AI have been varied. Evan Packard posted a video that has been viewed more than 12 million times of his (alleged) exchange with the chatbot. His main claim was that the bot lied to him about his location when asked directly, but then admitted to knowing where he lived when asked again after changing the subject. Other users noted that the chatbot asked for personal information, and denied having it when asked directly, yet admitted to knowing the birth month of the user in the previous message.
To test out My AI, Insider had a conversation with the chatbot about chicken tenders. My AI provided adequate responses and suggested recipes and portion sizes for good meal choices. It also did fairly well in responding to questions about location and accurately found the nearest pharmacy in the area, though asked twice on the same topic.
Snap CEO Evan Spiegel has also announced that the feature has had great success in the 11 weeks since its release. In fact, the amount of Snapchat+ subscribers increased by a million, which was a surprising result.
Snapchat is a popular social media platform that, since its launch in 2011, has consistently been one of the most used apps available. Its predominantly younger demographic has allowed it to tap into the younger market and remain one of the most popular apps year on year.
Evan Spiegel is the CEO of this app. He was born in Los Angeles, California, and was empowered at a young age to pursue his creativity with the help of his father, an immigration lawyer. Spiegel then attended Stanford University and, upon graduating, founded Snapchat with Bobby Murphy and Reggie Brown. Spiegel has been credited with being one of the youngest billionaires in the world for his success in managing Snapchat.
