Elon Musk, the tech-guru and mastermind behind Tesla, SpaceX and other innovative companies, is planning to launch a new AI tool called TruthGPT. The AI is said to seek maximum truth and compete with ChatGPT from Microsoft and Bard from Google. Musk has previously expressed his concerns about the misuse of artificial intelligence, and this project is reportedly his attempt to provide a third option for others.
The idea first became public during an interview with FOX TV. Here he said that the AI would try to understand the kind of universe we exist in, becoming the number one safety choice while avoiding human annihilation in the process. He also confirmed that he has registered a firm in Nevada called X.AI Corp and is the sole director of the firm while Jared Birchall, the managing director of Musk’s family office, serves as the secretary.
With this new AI, Musk hopes to provide an alternative to the existing offerings from Google and Microsoft. TruthGPT will be a truth-seeking AI, an AI that will try to understand the universe at a deeper level and thus, provide the best way to avoid annihilation and ensure safety of humanity. Musk thinks that it’s important for people to make their own decisions, and that the “third choice” may help them make the right decisions.
This move is in line with Musk’s beliefs about artificial intelligence and his worries about the unethical use of AI in the past. As such, he is determined to ensure that the “third choice” offers the maximum amount of security and safety for the users. With TruthGPT, Musk will be a major player in the Artificial Intelligence world and it will be seen how it will shape the future of AI.
