ElevenLabs, a platform that uses AI technology to generate synthetic voices, has raised $19m in a round co-led by Nat Friedman and Daniel Gross. Participants included Andreessen Horowitz, Creator Ventures, SV Angel, Instagram co-founder Mike Krieger, Oculus co-founder Brendan Iribe, Deepmind, Inflection AI co-founder Mustafa Suleyman and O’Reilly Media founder Tim O’Reilly. The Series A funding will enable the start-up to continue to grow its voice AI research hub and to develop new products for sectors including publishing, gaming, entertainment and conversational apps. The funding puts ElevenLabs’ value at $99m post-money.
