Dell Technologies has recently announced its latest AI push, unveiling a new range of AI-enabled PCs and servers powered by Qualcomm and Nvidia processors, respectively.
At an event held in Las Vegas on Monday, Dell showcased AI-capable PCs featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon X series chips with neural processing units dedicated to handling complex AI tasks. The company has made two of the five new PCs available for pre-order starting Monday, with the rest set to be released in the upcoming months.
Moreover, Dell also introduced a new server that supports Nvidia’s latest chips, set to be available in the second half of 2024. The server will offer liquid cooling technology as opposed to traditional air cooling, which tends to consume more power.
Arthur Lewis, president of Dell’s infrastructure solutions group, mentioned in an interview that the company’s Nvidia-based servers were the fastest ramping product in its history. With spending on AI servers expected to exceed $33 billion by 2024, Dell aims to tap into this growing market while anticipating a recovery in the PC market this year following a post-pandemic slowdown.
The announcement from Dell coincides with Microsoft’s annual Build event, where the concept of Copilot+ PCs was introduced, with Dell, Qualcomm, Intel, and AMD among the partners involved in the development.
Overall, the unveiling of these AI-enabled devices underscores Dell’s commitment to innovation and staying ahead in the competitive market for artificial intelligence servers. As the demand for AI servers continues to grow, Dell’s strategic investments in both AI PCs and servers are expected to drive demand for the company’s products, with analysts eagerly awaiting the impact on quarterly earnings expected to be reported on May 30.
