CRF’s Annual Gala Honors Healthcare Innovators Making a Positive Impact
The Cardiovascular Research Foundation (CRF) is set to host its annual Pulse of the City Gala on December 8, 2023, at The Plaza in New York City. This gala serves as CRF’s signature fundraising event and aims to recognize and honor individuals and programs that are making a positive impact on healthcare through innovation. The winners of the 2023 Pulse-Setter Awards will be celebrated during this event.
One of the distinguished winners is Dr. Jessica Mega, co-founder of Verily, a Google-affiliated company. Dr. Mega’s work focuses on applying artificial intelligence and data science to accelerate evidence-generation and improve patient outcomes. With a background in clinical and academic medicine, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role and is dedicated to driving innovation in healthcare.
Another honoree is Dr. L. Nelson Hopkins, a pioneer in catheter-based treatment of neurovascular diseases. Dr. Hopkins introduced the subspecialty of endovascular neurosurgery in the United States and has been instrumental in promoting collaboration among various medical disciplines. Through his leadership, he has established research centers and institutes that focus on studying and treating diseases of the vascular system, demonstrating his commitment to advancing patient care and innovation.
Dr. Michael R. Jaff is also among the Pulse-Setter Award winners. As an expert in vascular medicine, Dr. Jaff has made significant contributions to patient care through his research and clinical experience. Currently serving as the chief medical officer and vice president of clinical affairs, technology, and innovation at Boston Scientific, Dr. Jaff continues to drive positive change in healthcare delivery and improve patient quality of life.
In recognition of innovative uses for emerging technologies, the JADA® System/Organon program, represented by Colby Holtshouse, is honored as a Pulse-Setter Trailblazer. The JADA® System, developed by Alydia Health, aims to control and treat bleeding after childbirth through the use of a vacuum device. Since its acquisition by Organon, the program has expanded its reach to ensure safer childbirth for mothers worldwide.
