At the National Restaurant Association Show this week, several vendors discussed how bots can facilitate the hiring and retention of employees.
One well-known example is Workstream, which uses its bot, MIA, to help restaurants find and hire quality employees at a rapid pace. Prospective team members scan a QR code provided by the restaurant, and then they’re connected with the bot to answer questions about their work experience and availability. The process takes just five minutes and can be completed via text message.
Harri is taking ChatGPT use to the next step by using the technology to check in on employee morale, ask important questions, and even predict potential turnover. Harri Engage, launching in September, is talked about to take these steps and use the tech to create a closer and less biased connection with staff.
ExpandShare is another platform utilizing AI to help support restaurant training and operations. With ChatGPT, GMs can easily craft announcements and create checklists and quizzes for employee training.
In regards to ethical considerations, Harri CMO Jenn Ravalli stresses the need to ensure the technology in use can evaluate applicants without bias. She believes that ChatGPT technology can actually aid in bringing in applicants of a wider variety, as it eliminates potential conscious or unconscious bias.
