Luxury car manufacturer Mercedes-Benz is advancing its use of artificial intelligence with the integration of the OpenAI ChatGPT into its voice control system. The move aims to enhance the MBUX Voice Assistant’s Hey Mercedes functionality, such as navigation queries and weather requests. Mercedes-Benz will offer an optional beta programme enabling users to participate from June 16, 2023, via the Mercedes Me app or directly from their vehicle. Participation will provide drivers and passengers with the ability to receive sports and weather updates, answer questions about their surroundings, and even control their smart homes. The rollout of the beta programme will happen over the air.
