The discussions were fabricated, an outlandish example being linked to an imaginary Forbes article that spoke of CZ creating a social media platform for the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
In order to better understand the situation, Hillman asked ChatGPT if CZ was associated with the CNPC while referencing a fake LinkedIn profile. The machine-learning platform responded that it found evidence of such an affiliation in numerous interviews and news articles available to the public, as well as in an interview with Forbes that does not exist.
Since then, Hillman has warned customers to be wary of false information shared on ChatGPT. The company has been investing in different technologies to improve user experience on the platform, ensuring detailed verifications for any news or information shared.
