Author Experiences Creative Writing with AI, Writes 97 Mini-Novels with Chatbots like ChatGPT

Date:

Tim Boucher is a successful author who recently embraced AI writing and was able to write 97 mini-novels in nine months with the help of chatbots such as ChatGPT and Anthropic’s Claude. Through this, Tim was able to craft a series of unique novels that blended dystopian science fiction with thrilling AI. To illustrate his books, Tim used Midjourney, an AI image generator. Each book was around 5,000 words with 40-140 AI-generated images. Boucher said that writing his books only took 6-8 hours and at times he was able to write one in under three hours.

In the nine months he was writing his books, Boucher sold over 500 copies and made $2,000. The author believes that readers keep coming back to his book series since they can interconnect the stories. Additionally, Boucher is able to keep the price of his books low, which was an advantage not only for him, but also for the readers.

While AI has immense potential to augment human creativity, it has some drawbacks such as its inability to produce a coherent long-form story. Therefore, Boucher sticks to “flash” pieces. This has become especially true in recent times as AI-generated novels have surged in the market, prompting a debate around ethical issues around AI-driven writing.

ChatGPT is a powerful AI technology designed to do just that. It has been around since 2017 and has offered exceptional performance for its users. Founded in 2019, Anthropic created Claude, an AI-based tool to power businesses with insights. Both ChatGPT and Claude allow users to quickly generate insights, stories, and more than ever before.

Ultimately, Boucher’s clever use of AI technology for his books shows the immense potential it has when it comes to aiding human creativity. He proves that AI-assisted storytelling is a viable way to not only write but also market stories at a fraction of the price. Now, writers could make fewer mistakes and produce high-quality content with greater efficiency than ever before.
