Amazon’s cloud division, Amazon Web Services (AWS), has launched a new AI service called App Studio at its annual summit in New York. The service aims to help businesses create apps using text prompts, competing with other tech giants like OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, and Meta.
App Studio is a generative AI-driven platform that allows enterprise users to develop scalable internal apps by describing their needs in natural language. This service is currently available under a limited preview.
According to Amazon, App Studio is a low-code application building service powered by AI, making it easier to create secure applications that can address business problems quickly. Users can simply describe what they need, such as Build an app to review and approve invoices, and App Studio will generate the application, including a user interface, data model, and system for routing records.
In addition to App Studio, Amazon has introduced updates to its AI agents, including adding memory to automate work for businesses. These enhancements enable agents to provide more personalized and seamless experiences, such as remembering user preferences like aisle or window seats on a flight.
The company has also improved its Q chatbot to offer better suggestions for writing software code. These developments aim to enhance the capabilities of AI-powered services offered by Amazon.
With the launch of App Studio and updates to its AI agents, Amazon is further solidifying its position in the AI market, competing with other major tech players. The company continues to innovate in the AI space, providing tools and services that enable businesses to leverage the power of artificial intelligence for various applications.
