Amazon is no stranger when it comes to leaps and bounds in Artificial Intelligence (AI). In 2016, the company designed an accelerator program that looked into conversational AI and seven years later, the tech giant has launched another accelerator program, this time with a focus on generative AI. To foster the development of this emerging technology, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has put forth an ambitious 10-week program dedicated to emerging AI start-ups and products based around the same concept.
As part of the program, participants can expect access to industry-leading AI models and tools to work on, as well as machine learning stack optimization and go-to-market advice. At the end of the program, participants will face off in the Demo Day presentation in San Francisco and get a chance to showcase their projects. While AWS has opted not to invest in startups, it will provide an estimated $300,000 in AWS credits to help with the expansion of their companies. This program is open for applications for the next two weeks, and ten startups will be chosen to join.
Rob Ferguson, AWS’ Global Head of AI/ML Startups, elaborates on why the company is so enthusiastic about generative AI in particular. According to him, “Generative AI has unlocked new developments and creativity, and Amazon has been a main focus in the AI/ML space for over 20 years now so we’re confident that our approach to the technology can take it far beyond the realm of research.”
Howard Wright, AWS’ Global Head of Startups, emphasizes the importance of certain skills that make a startup more suited to benefit from Amazon’s sprint program. These include having a minimum viable product and customer traction, as well as being already familiar with the AWS system.
For those interested in a life-changing startup experience with a team of AI experts, Amazon’s generative AI accelerator program is definitely an avenue worth exploring. With up to $300,000 AWS credits, access to powerful AI models and tools and a guaranteed spot in the Demo Day presentation at San Francisco, there is no doubt that joining this program can help young entrepreneurs on their path to success.
