Despite facing challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic, technology has enabled the company to adapt and thrive in the post-pandemic surge in tourism.
Amadeus operates in 190 countries with a workforce of 18,000, offering its services to a wide range of travel-related businesses. In India, the company has two R&D centers in Bengaluru and Pune, with a total staff of over 3,500. The India team plays a significant role in contributing to Amadeus’ technical expertise, innovation, and commitment to enhancing travel experiences globally.
One of the key areas where Amadeus leverages technology is in artificial intelligence and data analytics. The company has been an early adopter of AI and analytics, using these tools to provide personalized and seamless customer experiences based on various factors such as search history and frequent flyer status. By using AI modeling for offer management, dynamic pricing, advanced merchandising, and customer experience management, among others, Amadeus aims to stay ahead in the competitive travel industry.
Amadeus has also been partnering with industry leaders such as Microsoft and Accenture to develop innovative solutions powered by AI. For instance, the company is working with Microsoft to create a Gen AI-powered interactive travel assistant and expense platform, leveraging GPT models for corporate travelers. Additionally, in collaboration with Accenture, Amadeus aims to help airlines optimize their ancillary offerings by providing actionable data-driven insights.
