Akooda, an early-stage startup, has secured $11 million in seed funding for its AI-powered operational insights platform. As organizations grow, it becomes increasingly challenging to understand operational activities across different departments. Akooda aims to address this issue by utilizing AI to analyze a company’s internal software stack and gain a comprehensive understanding of its inner workings.
By connecting to various SaaS tools within an organization, Akooda creates a coherent picture of operational activities. The software aggregates data from public Slack messages, Confluence documentation, code fragments, sales entries in platforms like Salesforce and HubSpot, and JIRA tickets. Using this information, employees can use generative AI to ask questions about their organization’s operations.
To ensure privacy, Akooda doesn’t utilize a company’s private data to train its AI models. Instead, it relies on statistical modeling and analysis of each company’s unique lexicon, including acronyms, project names, and customer names. This approach personalizes the software for different companies and industries.
In addition to answering questions, Akooda plans to introduce an anomaly detection engine to identify potential issues automatically. For instance, if the software detects that a low-revenue customer is consuming excessive internal resources, it can flag that for managers. This automation saves time and provides managers with valuable insights to inform their decision-making process.
The CEO of Akooda, Yuval Gonczarowski, emphasizes that while AI helps gather and present data, human decision-makers remain essential. The platform equips decision-makers with comprehensive information, enabling them to make more informed choices. Gonczarowski believes that this transformative approach to managing companies will fundamentally change the way organizations operate.
Currently boasting a team of 16 employees, Akooda plans to expand and is actively hiring for various roles. Gonczarowski believes that diversity is a natural outcome of fair and unbiased hiring practices. He cites an initiative in Israel, where the company is based, to hire Russian and Ukrainian immigrants as an example of their commitment to diversity.
The $11 million seed investment comes from several firms, including NFX, Atlassian Ventures, Village Global, Founder Collective, and additional undisclosed angel investors. This funding will enable Akooda to further develop its platform and expand its capabilities to better serve organizations looking to gain operational insights through AI analysis.
Through its innovative use of AI and statistical modeling, Akooda aims to empower organizations to understand their operations more comprehensively, reduce the reliance on time-consuming meetings, and make informed decisions based on reliable data-driven insights. With the seed funding secured, the company is well-positioned to continue its mission of reshaping how companies manage their operations.
