AirTree Invests in Generative AI-Powered Content Creation and Management Platform Narrato

Date:

Generative AI is becoming increasingly popular among venture capital investors, with the field seeing $4.5 billion in investments in 2021 alone. Reflecting this growing interest, AirTree Ventures recently invested a $1 million pre-seed round in Narrato, a generative AI content creation and management platform based in San Francisco. The round was also supported by OfBusiness, a B2B ecommerce platform, and serial entrepreneur Shreesha Ramdas.

Narrato is a AI content creation and collaboration platform that is used by customers such as chargesSaaS startup Chargebee, language learning app Preply, and customer onboarding software Rocketlane. Following its investment from AirTree, the company is hoping to expand its presence across the United States.

Narrato was founded in January 2021 by Australian entrepreneur Sophia Solanki, whose previous startup Drumup was a content marketing and social media management SaaS platform. Sophia Solanki’s vision for Narrato was to build a “Github for content,” with a workspace that offers automation, collaboration and publishing, as well as AI-assisted content creation. Built around generative AI, the platform’s primary feature is an AI content assistant that helps with planning, creating briefs, content creation and optimization.

Aside from the AI content assistant, Narrato users can also access collaboration and workflow tools, as well as automated publishing features. Content creation templates include formats such as blogs, articles, web copy, emails, video scripts, social media posts, and art. In addition, users can take advantage of research and benchmarking features to ensure their content reaches as wide a readership as possible.

Narrato faces competition from both AI-equipped and non-AI-equipped content creation platforms such as Notion, Clickup and Airtable, as well as the newer wave of AI-oriented platforms such as Jasper and Copy.ai. Amongst them, Narrato is hoping to differentiate itself by embedding generative AI into its marketing and content creation workflow, in a single platform.

AirTree partner Elicia McDonald had this to say about their investment: “Having identified the massive opportunity for generative AI in content marketing and already successfully built two companies in this space, Sophia knows the market inside out. She has a strong connection to the problem and has achieved impressive traction for a company at such an early stage, especially considering they’ve bootstrapped to date.”

Sophia Solanki is an Australian serial entrepreneur who has previously founded Drumup, a content marketing and social media management SaaS platform. After recognizing the potential of generative AI, she and her team decided to focus their platform on content creation and optimization assisted with AI technology. She is now leading Narrato with ambition, drawing the attention of and the financial backing of AirTree Ventures.
