With the latest entry in the classic Honkai series, Honkai: Star Rail, developers MiHoYo are using AI technology to supplement and enhance their development. At this moment in time, the development team has integrated some of the latest AI technologies into their work, including improved facial features and character behavior to improve the gaming experience and add a more natural representation. Despite exploring the latest AI advances, miHoYo currently doesn’t feel that they’re ready to apply AI when scripting the game’s story-driven aspects, although popular content scripting with AI is something of interest to them.
In regards to upcoming content for the game, MiHoYo currently doesn’t have any plans for Honkai: Star Rail to join forces with other titles such as Genshin Impact. Even though this may be seen as a disappointment for some, no details have been confirmed yet for potential crossovers regarding other games. Console releases for Nintendo Switch, Xbox etc are also still in development with no confirmation from the company yet. As for now, PlayStation is the only planned platform for Honkai: Star Rail releases.
