During a recent gathering organized by the Co-Creation Hub (CCHUB) in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation’s Centre for Innovative Teaching & Learning in ICT, experts emphasized the potential benefits of AI in education. The event, themed ‘Artificial Intelligence in Education,’ featured discussions on the transformative role of AI in addressing challenges such as outdated curricula and a shortage of qualified teachers in Nigeria.
Abdullahi Bature, co-founder of Schoola Limited, highlighted the importance of AI-enabled tools in improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning. Freda Anyanwu, country director of Global AI Council Nigeria, stressed the importance of ethical and responsible AI implementation in education. Omotayo Olorunfemi, community operations manager at Data Science Nigeria, emphasized the significance of AI in personalized learning and data-driven insights. Olorunfemi highlighted the potential benefits of incorporating AI in Nigeria’s education system, including enhanced learning experiences and skill development for young Nigerians.
