OpenAI’s co-founder and President, Greg Brockman, believes that artificial intelligence (AI) should come to patients’ doctor’s offices. Carbon Health, a US-based healthcare provider, has announced it is now using AI-powered software in its electronic health record (EHR) system to automatically generate visit summaries. This means medical providers then have a chart that they are able to review and edit for hands-free charting. The healthcare company found that AI-generated charts were 2.5 times more detailed than those done manually, giving medical providers a more complete overview of the patient. Since implementing the GTP-4 tool to generate charts, Carbon Health providers are seeing an impressive 75% reduction in how long it takes to create records, cutting the time spent from around 14 minutes to under four minutes.Â
