Uttar Pradesh Government Includes AI and Digital Literacy in Madrasa Curriculum
The Uttar Pradesh government has made a groundbreaking decision to incorporate chapters on Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital literacy, and coding into the madrasa curriculum. This move aims to equip students with the necessary skills for the digital age and encourage computational thinking. In collaboration with the basic education department, the UP Board of Madrasa Education has organized an orientation program for madrasa teachers on artificial intelligence.
The orientation module, scheduled to take place at Lucknow’s Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, will provide teachers with valuable insights into AI. Monika S. Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Minority Development, stated, A total of 22 videos, prepared with the assistance of subject experts, have been developed to provide madrasa teachers with information about AI.
With over 13 lakh students studying in 16,513 madrasas across the state, this initiative is set to have a significant impact. To further support the implementation of this curriculum, the government has already provided computers to 1,275 madrasas and equipped 7,442 madrasas with book banks, science kits, and mathematics kits.
