Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Workday, Inc. (NASDAQ: WDAY) have announced an expanded collaboration to accelerate the adoption of skills-based talent strategies and enhance organizational agility. With the ever-changing demands of businesses and workforces, organizations are increasingly focusing on skills to drive performance and adaptability. However, a recent research report by Accenture found that CXOs consider skilling and workforce development as the top challenge in hindering organizational growth in the coming year.
To address this challenge, Accenture and Workday are leveraging Workday Skills Cloud, an AI-powered skills intelligence platform, to help organizations gain insights into the skills and proficiencies within their workforce. The platform enables organizations to identify the skills needed for future growth and uncover reskilling opportunities that can have a significant business impact. These new offerings from Accenture, using Workday Skills Cloud, streamline the implementation of skills-based talent strategies from years to weeks with a pre-built worker skills journey that consolidates skills analysis, insights, and actionable steps.
Penelope Prett, Senior Managing Director and Workday Business Group Lead at Accenture, emphasized the importance of organizing work around skills to enable the workforce of the future. She stated, Many companies don’t know what skills they have, nor do they believe they have the data to figure it out. With Workday’s software and data and Accenture’s skills capability and services, we are helping organizations crack the code to becoming skills-driven.
The new offerings include a skill proficiency calculator built and tested by Accenture on its global workforce of over 733,000 employees. This calculator assesses the skills of employees and conducts intelligent skills matching to address business needs. Accenture is leveraging these data-driven insights to inform its practices across recruiting, talent marketplace, learning, and performance.
David Somers, Group General Manager at Workday, highlighted the significance of the expanded partnership with Accenture in offering skills-focused solutions to customers. He noted that nearly 2,000 organizations currently use Workday Skills Cloud to make informed talent and staffing decisions. By combining data from Accenture’s skill proficiency calculator with the AI capabilities of Workday Skills Cloud, customers will have access to upskilling opportunities and better prepare their workforce for the future of work.
Both Accenture and Workday are committed to driving skills-based talent strategies and staying at the forefront of industry shifts. Workday is currently prototyping Accenture’s solutions in conjunction with Workday Skills Cloud to support its own skills-based talent strategies and evolving business needs.
By collaborating, Accenture and Workday aim to empower organizations to become more skills-driven, enabling them to adapt, thrive, and unlock their full potential in an increasingly competitive and dynamic market.
