Political leader Aaditya Thackeray recently expressed his disapproval towards the current Maharashtra government for its autocratic nature and lack of transparency. At an event held by GITAM (Deemed to be University), a part of their Changemakers series which brings in global leaders as well as national leaders, Aaditya Thackeray said the oppression by the government has caused Maharashtra to lag behind in terms of investment, tourism, sustainability, and urban growth. He bemoaned the lack of faith in the judiciary and the tendency of citizens to focus on issues from decades ago such as religion v religion, region v region, instead of more pressing issues such as unemployment, inflation, and the overall welfare of citizens. He further reinforced the importance of marketing and making sure politicians work according to the people they serve, instead of vice versa.
