Moscow-based technology company Sistemma has unveiled the latest project in its AI development arsenal, the chatbot SistemmaGPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer). It’s a competitor to OpenAI’s popular ChatGPT and Russian businesses and government agencies will be able to access the AI domestically totally on Russian servers.
SistemmaGPT can be used for many tasks such as writing high-quality texts and possessing encyclopedic knowledge. It can also create tutorials, write essays and programming codes, resumes and even hold conversations as a celebrity. On top of this, the AI tool can search for and analyze data in real time, and develop strategies, as well as appropriate business projects.
Currently the chatbot is still in its work-in-progress, beta version but open testing by the public is due to begin in June. The company plans to expand into creating an AI that can edit images and videos, scheduled for 2023.
Such an AI chatbot type service rose to prominence when the American-made ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, hit the virtual shelves in November 2022. Since then it has amassed over one hundred million users and holds the record for fastest growing app. Even taking the exams to get into law and medical school is has proven itself viable. This was tested and proven when a Russian student used ChatGPT to successfully pass their diploma thesis.
It’s no surprise then that so many companies have started investing in their own AI projects. Google and Microsoft have both revealed their chatbots earlier this month and even Tesla and SpaceX CEO, Elon Musk has revealed that he’s looking to develop a similar AI.
However, when using the technology there are security risks to consider. For example, exposing sensitive data, since a chatbot’s effectiveness is effectiveness is reliant on users feeding it valuable data. OpenAI experienced a bug and some of their user’s personal and payment information was briefly exposed to the public.
