Google’s chatbot AI, Bard, has finally received chatbot-like features that are similar to the popular ChatGPT program. This was announced recently by Google’s CEO, Sundar Pichai, in an interview. Bard allows users to code and debug functions, something that was highly requested of Google by its users. These features are available in more than 20 programming languages, including C++, Go, Java, Javascript, Python and Typescript, and the code can easily be exported to Google Colab with no copy and paste hassle.
The feature will be available to select user groups from the US and UK, as the engineers have to go through a testing phase with the AI before it can be released for general public’s usage. The idea is to have a product that works effectively rather than releasing it quickly and having it wreak of errors. Google wants to make sure any issues with the AI’s responses are addressed and fixed before making it live in the real world.
Meanwhile, Open AI’s ChatGPT is setting a different bar with its version 4.0, being available in Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Bing Search and Office Suite of apps and even plugins that allow users to get responses from the internet.
