Elon Musk Creating “TruthGPT” to Compete with Woke AI like DeepMind and OpenAI

Date:

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter, was recently featured in an interview on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight.” During the discussion, Musk addressed the need for government regulations regarding the use of artificial intelligence technology. He also shared his plans to create a new AI initiative called “TruthGPT” which will compete against organizations like OpenAI and DeepMind, both of which are at the forefront of AI research and development.

During the interview, Musk shared his thoughts on AI technology and his aspirations for it. He went on to express his concerns surrounding contemporary AI systems, as they are increasingly being trained to be politically correct, a move that Musk believes could lead to untruthful information being sent out into the world.

Additionally, Musk and Carlson discussed Musk’s ownership of the Twitter social media platform, which the tech CEO acquired for $44 billion in October 2022. Musk also discussed the extent of intelligence agencies’ access to user data on Twitter and announced plans for an encrypted direct messaging setting on the platform that will be offered to users sometime next month.

When questioned on Twitter’s role in future elections, Musk responded that it will play a significant part, both domestically and internationally. He did, however, joke that, if one was not trying to run a “glorified activist organization”, a lot of people can be let go of, as Twitter currently only operates at 20% of its previous workforce.

TruthGPT, which Musk is planning to launch, will be a “maximum truth-seeking AI” that aims to learn about the universe at a fundamental truth-seeking level. The initiative could potentially compete with tech behemoths such as OpenAI and DeepMind and would look to regulate how AI technology is used in the world in order to keep it beneficial for humanity.
