Amazon, the cloud services platform of Amazon, is making a big move in the leading-edge artificial intelligence (AI) space with its new generative AI model called Bedrock. Built on machine learning (ML), generative AI is capable of creating new content and ideas for conversations, stories, images, videos, and music. While Bedrock does not depend on the ChatGPT AI platform that has been recently released, it provides similar leading-edge human-type capabilities. Bedrock is grounded on Amazon’s proprietary foundational models, which are pretrained with large amounts of data from AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Stability AI, and Amazon. This can then be customized to fit the unique needs of different workflows and used for tasks such as writing blogs, generating images, solving math questions, having conversations, and answering questions based on a document.
Alongside the Bedrock launch, Amazon also revealed various AI developments. Amazon CodeWhiperer is an AI-based coding assistant which uses a foundational model to offer developers real-time code suggestions based on natural language, as well as prior code. Furthermore, Amazon is focusing on mass adoption of machine learning (ML) via cloud, data, and ML technologies, as it believes most customer experiences and applications will be eventually be redefined by generative AI.
Following closely, Chinese e-commerce giant JD has announced plans for an AI platform of their own. The Yanxi AI platform, that was crafted by JD Cloud, will set the framework for a brand new industrial application of the open-source ChatGPT solution. This AI platform will enable more efficient operations and smarter decisions, as it utilizes Jin’s machine learning database DAAC.
Overall, the revolutionary changes introduced by both Amazon and JD are the latest example of the rapid expansion and development taking place in the space of artificial intelligence. By introducing generative AI, AI-based coding assistant and Yanxi AI Platform, many industries are able to make significant strides in their product growth and customer experience. Amazon’s and JD’s new AI offerings urge others in the competitive industry to keep up and upgrade their operational strategies.
