Sci-Fi Author Liu Cixin Uses ChatGPT to Write Speech as Time Runs Out

Date:

Chinese sci-fi author Liu Cixin recently revealed that he used artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot ChatGPT to help him write his latest public speech due to a lack of time. In an interview with Michael Yu Minhong, founder of New Oriental Education and Technology Group, Liu said that ChatGPT could replace some human work in the future but it will not result in humans being ruled by AI, as portrayed in science fiction. Liu is not the first Chinese literary figure to seek assistance from AI to write a speech. Last month, Nobel laureate Mo Yan revealed he had also used ChatGPT due to writer’s block. Many Chinese tech companies are now tapping into the large language model (LLM) bandwagon, with over 79 LLMs with more than 1 billion parameters launched so far.
