Tim Boucher, a science-fiction author, recently revealed he wrote over 100 books in a span of just 9 months by using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT and MidJourney. With the help of AI, Boucher wrote 2,000 to 5,000 words in his books along with 40 to 140 AI-generated images. Unbelievably, Boucher was able to complete this task in just six to eight hours while in some cases, he created a book in three hours!
Boucher named his book series ‘AI Lore Books’ and between August 2022 to May 2023, he managed to sell 574 books and made approximately $2,000. To generate more interest in his books, Boucher has written them in a way that the stories are interconnected, which entices readers to come back for more.
AI is undoubtedly a powerful tool for maximising creativity and storytelling. Using AI, Boucher was able to turn the stories and narratives that swam in his thoughts for years into an e-book series. With AI, Boucher believes that creativity and storytelling will reach heights never seen before. Speaking of this remarkable tool, he added, “I am convinced that the intersection of AI and storytelling holds enormous potential, and I am eager to see where this journey takes us next. Our imagination is the only limit.”
Meanwhile, Nobel Laureate Mo Yan recently used ChatGPT to write his speech for an event, which has stirred quite a buzz in the literary field.
Artificial Intelligence is a rapidly growing technology with the potential to revolutionise many aspects of our lives. Companies such as ChatGPT and MidJourney, which provide AI tools specifically designed to help authors in their creative process, are increasingly in demand. With the help of AI, authors are able to write and publish books faster and with more efficiency while keeping a consistent high-quality. Already, AI is proving to be beneficial to those involved in the creative writing process and as AI becomes more advanced, the possibilities for authors using AI will be endless.
