AI-Generated Ads Coming Soon on Google

Date:

Google is advancing AI technology to create ads that are more effective and are tailored to a person’s search. Generative AI tools create text and images that can be used in ads and Meta is already testing similar technology. This is momentous news for Google Ads, which accounts for 80% of the company’s revenue. AI-generated text and images help save advertisers money and are more likely to draw clicks from consumers.

Google Ads Vice President Jerry Dischler claims that this new AI technology could deliver more “relevant, beautiful ads” for advertisers and users, as well as increase performance. To use generative AI, Google is offering some of their new features for free while also monitoring the quality of the output. This way the company is able to reduce their risks with potential copyright infringement.

Google is ahead of rival Meta, who also announced AI-generated features. Meta AI executive Aparna Ramani estimated the costs of AI-generating models as being 1,000 times more expensive than using AI to suggest content and curate user News Feeds. Despite the high costs, AI-generated ads can produce compelling and tailored ads to generate more clicks from users.

Google is a search engine giant that is known for its range of products, services and tools all over the world. The company was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and has seen tremendous growth in the terms of its revenue and market share over the years. Google is a renowned technology powerhouse that provides users with an array of services, like online advertising, search engine optimization tools, and cloud-based software and hardware.
